Origins
The Marquette Water Ski and Wakeboard Team was founded in the
fall of 2004 by students Kenny Hartmann and Michael Emola, tired
of having their ski season come to a halt when school started.
Adding to a growing list of Midwest schools with water ski teams.
Information
Our team consists of individuals with a wide range of abilities,
from those who have never skied before, to top athletes in the
Midwest. This allows us to have fun yet be competitive at the
same time. While there are no required practices, we will be
out on the water nearly everyday from early spring to late fall.
Anyone that is a current Marquette student is welcome to join.
To find out more about the team, browse the site and send an
email to one of our contacts. We can't wait to hear from you!
Team Firsts
The team has grown tremendously, making its first regional tournament
appearance ever in 2005.
In 2006, the teams third year, the team placed fifth at regionals
qualifying it for nationals for the first time ever. The team
would go to Sacramento, CA to compete in nationals and place
second in division two.
At the end of the 2006 season Marquette was named NCWSA and MCWSA Team of the Year for the first time.
As a team the only tournament attended in the Spring 2007 season
was the Wisconsin Collegiate Open, which turned out to be the
team's first ever first place team victory in a collegiate tournament.
